Akagi’s latest creation, the Shin-nuri Wajima Rice Bowl, is a pursuit of perfection in form, inspired by late Edo-period Wajima lacquer rice bowls.

With its tall stance and deeply curved interior, the bowl possesses a dignified presence tempered by a quiet gentleness—its form is a highlight in itself.

According to Akagi, particular attention was paid this time to the shape of the base.
The foot of the bowl is executed with precise craftsmanship, with clean, sharp cuts extending all the way to the edges, giving it a crisp and disciplined finish.

For care: We recommend washing gently with lukewarm water. If used for oily foods, a small amount of mild detergent and a soft sponge may be used. After washing, allow the piece to air dry in a dish rack. For long-term storage, keep it in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
